This year was the second time Young ICT Explorers was held in Townsville. The event was enormously successful with a total of 34 students, with 19 projects from 8 schools! Also – a big welcome to the three new schools that joined us this year! The array and diversity of projects presented was certainly raised to another level this this year. All the kids had a fantastic day and I am sure that their passion and excitement for their projects will encourage many more kids to enter next year.
We are thankful to both the staff and students ambassadors from the College of Business, Law & Governance at James Cook University Townsville for the tremendous support they provide us.
A special thanks also to our keynote speaker Aden Tranter and to the judges from both the local and wider IT industry – all of who gave up their Saturday to assess the projects and provide encouragement to the next generation of up and coming IT professionals.
Finally, thanks to all the teachers who believe in Young ICT Explorers and the parents without whose support this competition would not be possible.
